Aside | New books
I’ve recently started a new job – and on leaving my last one was lucky enough to receive £20 of book tokens as a parting gift from my old team. Today I headed into Waterstones, armed with a very long wish list to treat myself to some new books.
I haven’t gone to a book store with a list in a long time and I actually found it really difficult to find anything – if only they had a search function like amazon! Of course it didn’t help that my list was alphabetised by title instead of author *lol*
A lot of the books just weren’t available – especially the YA ones – and some I put back as they were twice as expensive as Amazon – but all was not lost and I came away with:
- The girl who stopped swimming by Joshilyn Jackson
- The sound of butterflies by Rachel King
- A certain slant of light by Laura Whitcomb
- The secret of lost things by Sheridan Hay
- The God of animals by Aryn Kyle
Of course I didn’t get all of them for £20 but I couldn’t resist
The other new book that hit my shelf this week was Admit One: A journey into film by Emmet James. Lisa Roe emailed me to ask if I would review the book and I jumped at the chance. The author has written me a note inside the front cover which I thought was a nice touch.
What new books have found their way into your home this week?
