Aside | Summer Reading Extravaganza Day 4: Summer Reading Activities
Day 4 in the Summer Reading Extravaganza and today’s topic is summer activities:
What we love so much about reading is that it expands our world! If you have any fun traditions or activities that you share with your kids or students that have to do with reading, today is the day to share them. If you don’t have kids, maybe you have a book club that does has some fun traditions or you enjoy organizing your books in the summer. Be creative and share with us!
I don’t really have any fun traditions relating to summer reading – other than spending time in the warm sunshine escaping with a good book – so I decided that 2008 might be a good year to start a tradition! Yesterday I shared it with my reading friends…
This July is the inaugural Book Blowout – a mini challenge – just for one month – and the challenge is to read as many books as you can – simple right? I’m not talking scary numbers – the number of books is entirely up to you – if you never read and one book a month is a challenge then that’s all you need to achieve.
If you fancy joining in the fun then head over to the Book Blowout challenge page for details of how to sign up.
How about you? Do you have some fun reading activities you’d like to share? Post in the comments below and then head over to the Extravaganza to see what everyone else gets up to when schools are out and the sun is shining.
