@Nymeth – oh is Jostein a guy? I assumed he was a she! I have Sophie’s World on my wish list but am about to add the other book you mentioned. Hope you manage to read this one.

This sounds very interesting. I’ve read two books by Gaarder: Sophie’s World, which I enjoyed, and Vita Brevis, which left me in awe, pretty much. So after being awed I have no idea why I never picked up another one of his books!
