Annes House of Dreams by L.M. Montgomery

Anne's House of Dreams by L.M. Montgomery

I’m reading Anne’s House of Dreams because…

I’m working my way through the whole series of Anne books by L.M. Montgomery and I was ready for another Anne and Gilbert fix. I have high hopes for this book following the disappointment of Anne of Windy Willows.

I’m still reading…

While I am enjoying Great Expectations, I can only read it when I have time to sit and really concentrate. I’m reading it during my lunch hour at work and it’s working perfectly.

Uncle Toms Cabin by Harriet Beacher Stowe

Uncle Tom

I’m listening to…

Uncle Tom’s Cabin – which I downloaded from Librivox and I’m really enjoying listening to it on my way back and forth to work. It’s hard to believe this book was published in 1852.

Currently Reading | Anne of Windy Willows by L.M. Montgomery

Anne of Windy Willows sees Anne take up a new post as Principal of Summerside High School where she must outface the dreaded Pringle clan. I’m looking forward to the budding romance between Anne and the handsome Gilbert Blythe *sigh*

Currently Reading | The Secret of Lost Things by Sheridan Hay

Earlier in the year I read lots of great reviews of this book – so I treated myself to a copy with some gift vouchers I received from colleagues at work. I’m also reading it for the I Heard it Through the Grapevine challenge. Of course it’s been a while so I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s about!

  1. I love Anne of Green Gables. I have pulled Uncle Tom’s Cabin off of the bookshelf this month and added it to the pile of “read these sooner than later.”

    Anne’s House of Dreams is a good one. I think LM went back and wrote Windy Poplars after this one. So many great new characters – Miss Cornelia, Captain Jim, Leslie Moore. Anne and Gil take a bit of a back seat, but it’s a great book nonetheless.

    Only a few more to go in the series. Rilla of Ingleside is my favorite, after Green Gables.

    Dickens does take a lot of work sometimes–which is why I’ve been putting off Oliver Twist for months!! I do hope you end up liking Great Expectations, though.

    Trishs last blog post..Snow Country – Yasunari Kawabata

    @Natasha @ Maw Books – You won’t regret it I’m sure :)
