Currently Reading | Lord of the Flies

Lord of the Flies

Lord of the Flies

This classic isn’t as onerous as some of the others I’ve picked up so I’ll be dedicating all of my efforts to this one rather than trying to juggle two reads this week!

Uncle Tom

I’m still listening to…

Uncle Tom’s Cabin – which I downloaded from Librivox – I only listen to it in the car when I’m driving to work – and I only do that twice a week – and the return trip is only 30 minutes – which is why it’s taking so darn long!

Currently Reading | Cathy's Book by Stewart Weisman Brigg

I’m reading Cathy’s Book because… I’m in the middle of revising for an exam and need something light to read between study sessions – plus I really want to hit that 75 book target so from here on in I’m picking the shortest books on the shelf!

Currently Reading | The Secret of Lost Things by Sheridan Hay

Earlier in the year I read lots of great reviews of this book – so I treated myself to a copy with some gift vouchers I received from colleagues at work. I’m also reading it for the I Heard it Through the Grapevine challenge. Of course it’s been a while so I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s about!

Currently Reading | Anne's House of Dreams

I’m working my way through the whole series of Anne books by L.M. Montgomery and I was ready for another Anne and Gilbert fix. I have high hopes for this book following the disappointment of Anne of Windy Willows.

    Hey
Long time no see. Good to see you’re keeping up with the classics! Lord of the Flies is a great book. I’m reading Alan Hollinghurst’s ‘the Line of Beauty’, which is dull and hard going! Got any recommendations for a good read?

It has been a long time since I stopped by for a visit. I really need to read Lord of the Flies. I have to say that cover you posted is really weird, different from any I have ever seen before.

I think it is great that you are listening to Uncle Tom’s Cabin on your way to work. Are you enjoying it? I read it for school and while I enjoyed it more than I thought I would I am not running out to re read it on my own.

I just love Librivox for its ability to get me into books i might not otherwise read.
