Reading Challenges
Before I started writing book reviews here at Blue Archipelago, I used to think that reading was a solo activity. I’d read whatever book caught my eye at the store and stayed well inside my comfort zone – mainly chick lit! Then in January 2008 I created this website and my understanding of reading changed forever…
I can’t even begin to count the number of people who blog about the books that they’ve read. Whereas before if you really wanted to be sociable with your reading you had to join a book club and be bound by the group choice you can now chat to fellow book bloggers. Trust me. Whatever you are reading you will find someone else in the comunity who has an opinion on it.
But book blogs are only the start of it… you can also take part in ‘reading challenges’. Want to challenge yourself to read more books? What about testing your boundaries and dipping your toes into the ocean of new authors or genres? How about staying awake for an entire weekend and reading as many books as you possibly can? Well you can do all of these things, and much more, just by joining a reading challenge!
To find out what challenges are available at the moment visit A Novel Challenge.
