Sunday Salon | Between Books

Nineteen Minutes

Hello Saloners – come in, pull up a chair, we’re having a lazy afternoon with reading and football watching :)

I missed our date last week as I went to visit my parents for an overnight stay, and while I enjoyed seeing them I missed our little book chat!

This week I’ve been slogging my way through R.J. Ellory’s A Quiet Belief in Angels – I say slogging, because it started out an intriguing and enjoyable read, and then went downhill in the middle. I’m glad to report that having just spent a few hours finishing it off it came good in the end! Click on the book’s title back there to see the review I just posted – and if you disagree with what I thought be sure to post in the comments.

I did mean to write a review of my reading at the end of March as some of you have done, but time ran away with me and it seems a bit late now – I’ll be sure to start that task at the end of April! I have just updated my reading list though, and it seems that at 15 weeks into 2008 I have read 18 books; which puts me on track to complete my 50 book challenge. I am certainly reading much more than I have in recent years and can usually crack a book in less than a week, but some – like Angels – take a bit longer!

I’m not getting far on my Spring Reading Thing list – as despite alphabetising my TBR and vowing to read them in that order I seem to still be sneaking in new ones *blush*. First there was Mockingbird, and now I have just got my hands on the long-awaited paperback of Picoult’s Nineteen Minutes. After battling my way through Angels I am going to reward myself with that one, as the Ps are still an awful long way off *lol*.

Well that’s me done for today, I’m going to head over to catch up with some other Saloners, and then spend some time with my other hobby – digital scrapbooking.

Happy Reading – see y’all next Sunday.
