Hi Linda – I can see how that book would have been hard to read as a High School teacher – I’m really enjoying the book so far – I like Picoult’s writing style and the way she covers off such sensitive issues.

Thanks for visiting my blog. It's fun getting to know new people. I totally agree with you about your favorite Picoult. My sister's Keeper is my all time favorite of hers. I bawled like a baby! I found the chapters about Jesse especially moving. I just finished Nineteen Minutes a couple weeks ago and loved it but it was hard to read especially since I am a high school teacher! Scary! I installed a new plugin called commentluv that links back to your site in the comments if you have an RSS feed – and every comment that had the link in ended up in moderation! Might have to tinker with that

@Ravenous Reader- as with all Picoult’s books its a difficult subject – but I am enjoying it and think she is covering the issues well so far.

@Trish – that isn’t actually my cover and I don’t actually like it! *lol* I’m playing with Zemanta and it got that image from wikipedia – my cover is quite nice – a kind of out of focus boy and a jar with a butterfly in. It’s the UK paperback version.

@Danica – *blush* I could never do the real scrapbooking stuff – looked like a 5 year old had a tantrum Digital is much more me!

@Kristen – I think I’ve read pretty much all of hers to date and have only been disappointed by one (can’t remember which!) I’m glad this is your favourite as I have high hopes for it! So far I have loved My Sister’s Keeper the best – if you’ve not read it yet go get a copy

Oh, I like your cover of 19 Minutes much more than mine–which is deceiving if you ask me (two kids holding hands…blah!).

18 books in 15 weeks–sounds GREAT! I give thanks to blogging and reading challenges for my boost in reading since grad school (when I HAD to read that much).

Enjoy Nineteen Minutes! Of the four or five Picoult I’ve read, it was my favorite… I usually think Picoult has a hard time with endings, but I thought the ending of this one really worked. I look forward to your review!
