Weekly Geeks | It's all about the challenge

This week’s Weekly Geeks is all about challenges – either getting up to date with the challenges you’re in – or signing up for your first ever challenge.
Luckily for me I just spent the last couple of hours cleaning up my Challenge Update page and writing a recap post for The Spring Reading Thing – I must be phsycic!
I love reading challenges – I started this website because I challenged myself to read 50 books in 2008, and then I stumbled across a bunch of great booking bloggers and before I knew it I was signed up for challenges, receiving requests from authors to review their books and really pushing my reading comfort zones.
There are some fantastic challenges around – just look at my Challenge Update page to see how many I’m signed up for – and that’s just a scratch on what is available out there. Challenges that suit every reader’s taste and help you discover new books and authors to enjoy.
I’ve even got six people joining me in my own mini-challenge Celebrating 100 Years of Anne – I can’t wait to read everyone’s thoughts on the Anne novel they choose to read.
I’m thinking of hosting a Book Binge for the month of July – if you’d be interested in joining in could you pop a note in the comments please.
If you have never signed up for a challenge before then you need to head over to A Novel Challenge – Wendy keeps a list there of every single challenge and reading event she comes across – it’s a great resource so you should definitely subscribe to her feed so you never miss out on one!
Oh and if you’ve never heard of the Weekly Geeks before then you can find out more information about how to join in the fun over at Dew’s site.
Until next week…

Weekly Geeks | Discover new blogs week
Dewey has kicked off her Weekly Geeks challenge by encouraging us to visit the blogs of five other participants. I was quite surprised to see how many names I recognise on the list – no wonder my feed reader is so busy *lol* I did find some new readers to follow though: Chris writes her [...]

Weekly Geeks | Storytelling
This week’s challenge: Guten Tag, Weekly Geeks! This week’s theme was suggested by Renay. She says, “I thought it would be cool to ask people to talk about other forms of story-telling.” I’ve missed the last couple of challenges as they required me to stop and think – I gave myself the excuse that I [...]

Weekly Geeks | Photos Week
This week Dew has challenged us all to post a photo so I’m posting the books I am planning to complete for the Summer Reading challenge…

Challenges really are a lot of fun – a great way of expanding one’s reading horizons and of meeting fellow bookbloggers. I still need to do my Weekly Geeks post…I’ve lost count of the challenges I’ve joined this year, so it will be good to check, lol.
Speaking of the 100 years of Anne Challenge, my copies of Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island arrived two days ago… I can’t wait to read them

Ooh, I might be interested in a book binge then. I’m trying to get through my current TBR pile as soon as possible! I’m down to about 23 books now.
